talents as a floral arranger/designer at Grove City Floral and later
became a Licensed Practical Nurse for Orient State Institute, from which
she retired in 1986 and returned to Cottontown with her husband. She was a
member of New Deal Church of Christ as well as a loyal faithful member of
Grove City Church of Christ. Her favorite pastimes reflected her love of
nature and knowledge as she was an accomplished gardener, seamstress,
devoted mystery novelist fan, a classic Southern cook, and she immersed
herself in contemporary and country music. Her love of travel included
visits to all but one the U. S. states and the several foreign countries.
Thelma will be sorely missed as she was described by all who encountered
her, even briefly, as a sweetheart. Her sage advise and gentle disposition
and unbiding enthusiasm for helping others are a true loss for family and
friends. Her forgiving nature and embracing love of family will remain as
cherished memories for her survivors. Her infectious laugh should happily
bring warm smiles for those who honor and remember her as a loving mother,
aunt and grandmother. Visitation is 1 p.m., until 3 p.m., and 6
