Louise Wright Aldridge, age 90, of Portland, passed away January 13, 2010. She was born in Sumner County on June 19, 1919, to the late Maynard and Loria Wright. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Aldridge; and sons, Donnie and Troy Aldridge. She is survived by her son, Roy (Pricilla) Aldridge of Portland; daughter, Monecca (Larry) McGothlin of Castalian Springs; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.  Visitation is 10:30 a.m., until 9 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2010.  Funeral service is 1 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Mary Agnes Appleby, age 69, of Portland, passed away February 9, 2010, at her home. She was born in Sumner County on November 9, 1940, to the late Lex and Elsie Gregory Upchurch.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Appleby.  She is survived by her sister Marjorie Slater of Marietta, Ga.; brother, Larry (Judy) Upchurch of Portland; nephew, Royce Upchurch; nieces, Tonya Cecil, Kathy Laird and Marjorie E. Robin Nicole Ausbrooks, age 26, of Portland, passed away April 16, 2010. She was born in Barren County, Ky., on September 23, 1983. She was the granddaughter of Willie Hughes, Purdie Jane Lile, and James and Jeanette Smith. Jimmy Leslie Belcher, age 72, of Cottontown, passed away January 24, 2010. He was born in Sumner County on September 9, 1937, to the late Charlie L. and Margaret Ann Henderson Belcher. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanette Perdue Belcher of Cottontown; sons, Jimmy L. Belcher, Jr., of White House, Charles Alvin (Sheila) Belcher of White House; daughter, Faye (Danny) Amabile of Cottontown; grandchildren, Amanda Michelle Belcher, Katie Shanae Belcher, Justin Tyler Bennett; great grandchildren, Aalyiah Nickole Belcher, Kaydon Marie Belcher; sisters, Winnie Jones, Ruth Dorris, Linda Gambrell; brothers, Donnie Belcher, Tommy Belcher. Jimmy was a member of Cherry Mound Masonic Lodge #227, a member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church and an avid fisherman. Hettie Lee Perkins Brady, age, 93, of Gallatin, Tenn., passed away March 3, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jules Brady. She is survived by her son, John (Rita) Brady of Gulfport, Miss.; daughters, Julie (Robert) Young of Prattville, Ala., and Carolyn Crabtree of Madison, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michael Brady, Kelly Mundell, Tommy Cross, Joey Cross, Billy Crabtree, Erin Young, Drew Young; 11 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Graveside service is 2 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Henry Cemetery, Corinth, Miss. Hallie B. Brewer, age 84, of Portland passed away June 10, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center. She was born in Sumner County on March 15, 1926. Hallie is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Widdie Brackin Brewer; brothers, Carl and Charles Brewer; sister, Ruth Bratton. She is survived by her sisters, Allen Frances Johnson of Alquippa, Pa., Clyde Gatewood of Orlinda, Lassie Burns of Las Vegas, Nev., Shirley Brewer of Portland; brothers, Edgar Brewer of Portland, Ellis Wayne Brewer of Portland. James Melvin Briley, age 71, of Cottontown, of passed away July 9, 2010. He was born in Sumner County on June 25, 1939, to the late Herman and Nola Belle Briley. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Perry Briley of Cottontown; daughter, Jackie (Ronnie) Delk of Portland; son, Adam (Amanda) Briley of Cottontown; grandchildren, Michael Briley, Austin Briley, Amber Briley, Tina Osten, Katie Hodges; one great grandchild. Mary Summers Briley, age 72, passed away July 15, 2010, peacefully during her sleep.  A native of Sumner County, she moved to Nashville at age 18.  She became the beloved matriarch of her extensive family and an independent woman way ahead of her time.  She was creative, an avid reader, loved movies, parties, great food and wanted all who knew her to enjoy them, too.  She was preceded in death by her father, Mitchell Summers.  She is survived by her mother, Helen Summers; daughter, Dr.Susan Briley; longtime companion, Justin Boyle, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn (John)Dunn, Charlotte Franklin, Sylvia Summers; brothers, Larry (Sharon) and Jerry Summers; nieces, Mary Ann Young, Stephanie Upton, Karen Davis, Janet Black, Michelle Weathers; nephews, John (Stacy) and Daniel Weathers, Christopher (Amy) Franklin, Matthew Summers, Jonathan Dunn and Tracy Young. Visitation is 3 p.m., until 9 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, an after 1 p.m., Sunday.  Funeral service is 3 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with David Boyle and Barry Jarvis officiating. Earline Lillie Brooks, age 73, of Portland, passed away March 16, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center after a defeated battle with lung cancer. She leaves behind a loving husband, James Brooks; and children, Randy (Dawn) Brooks, Danny (Terri) Brooks, Gail (Randy) Kirkham; grandchildren, Amber (Josh) Kennedy, Lucas Brooks, Josh (Kendra) Brooks, Brandon (Ashley) Kirkham, Dillon Kirkham, Austin Kirkham; great grandchildren, Madison Kirkham, Addi Kennedy.  Earline Lillie drew strength from her supportive brothers, R.D., Charles, and Jimmy Bradley; and sisters, Barbara Jean Brown, Margie Rogers, and Wilma High, who embraced her with loving arms. She is preceded in death by her son, Mike Brooks; grandson, Jonathan Brooks; sister, Flora Hodges; and brother, Harold Bradley. Earline will be missed dearly by many. She was a member of Fountain Head Baptist Church. Hattie Louise Brown, age 88, of Portland, passed away April 27, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Sumner County on July 22, 1921, to the late Dewey and Bessie Sadler Heath. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen V. Brown. Hattie was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Fehrle of Westmoreland; grandson, Doug Mason of Nashville. Joseph Randall Brown, age 58, of Portland, passed away March 7, 2010. He was born in Sumner County on January 19, 1952, to the late Buford and Lois Brown. Randall retired from Albany International. He is survived by his sister, Vickie (Bruce) Hunter of Portland;  nieces, Victoria (Thomas) Hunter Bobbit of Old Hickory, Erin Hunter of Murfreesboro; great niece, Emma Caroline Bobbitt. Leavie Kathleen Calvert, age 89, of Westmoreland, passed away March 4, 2010. She was born in Adolphus, Ky., on October 21, 1920, to the late Louis and Cora Cline. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Calvert; her sons, Byron, Bobby and Joe Calvert; and her grandson, Craig Calvert. She is survived by her grandchildren, Corey Calvert of Portland, Sandie Calvert of Hendersonville, Kevin Calvert of Portland, Ricky Calvert of Westmoreland, Kenny Calvert of Portland, Amanda Calvert Taylor of Portland, and Jessie Calvert of Ashland City; sister-in-law, Margie Shelton of Scottsville. Jewell Christine Carpenter, age 84, of Portland, passed away January 26, 2010. She was born in Sumner County on August 20, 1925, to the late Noah Barlow and Bessie Lou Holmes Thompson. She retired from Dupont.  She is preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Carpenter, Sr.  She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Jim) Myers of High Point, N.C., Nancy (Shadden) Johnson of Portland, Betty (Mike) Kakassy of Brentwood; son, Bill (Jennifer) Carpenter of Portland; grandchildren, Eddie Williams, Kenneth Williams, Christy Williams, Carly Jones, Casey Carpenter, Chase Sneed, Hannah Sneed and Nicole Coffey; 9 great grandchildren. John Ceska, age 87, of Portland, passed away February 12, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Sumner County on January 30 1923, to the late Jim and Frances Bolba Ceska. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country during World War II. He was an active member of American Legion Post 17 and had served as chaplain.  As a member of the American Legion Honor Guard, John had attended the burial services of countless veterans, presenting flags to the next of kin, which he did so with great honor and emotion. He is survived by his wife, Alta Key Ceska of Portland; daughters, Patricia Ceska of Gallatin, and Linda (David) Proffitt of Bethpage; grandchildren, Cindy Cantrell of Gallatin, Monecca (Adam) Booth of Lafayette, Amanda (Jay) Tucker of Bethpage; great grandchildren, Braxton Booth, Emily Cantrell, Victoria Booth and Tobin Tucker; brother, Frank Stasek; several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Ceska; parents, Jim and Frances Ceska; sister, Ava Jean Suddarth. Willard Clifton Chandler, age 90, of Portland, passed away February 16, 2010, at his home. J.C. Willard Clinard, age 65, of Portland, passed away February 13, 2010. He was born in Robertson County on August 30, 1944, to the late Jessie and Lucille Clinard. He is survived by his wife, Janie Warden Clinard of Portland; son, Keith (Tonya) Clinard of Franklin, Ky.; daughters, Theresa Clinard Gad of Hendersonville, Laura (Keith) Locke of Hendersonville, Kristy Clinard of Portland; six grandchildren; sister Lovella Howard of Portland.  He was a member of Liberty General Baptist Church in Franklin, Ky., past Master of Portand Masonic Lodge 326, and he was a retired plumber. Holly Fay Cole, age 64, of Portland, passed away June 19, 2010. She was born in Sumner County on December 8, 1945, to the late Hollis Hubert and Aline Dotson Cole. She is survived by her granddaughter, Holly Ann Moore of Portland; great grandson, Kaleb Ray Moore of Portland; sisters, Helen Hunter of Portland, Sue Webb of Rockbridge; brother, Harold (Lola) Cole of Portland; several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Webb; brother, Bobby Cole; sister, Pearl Sullivan. Barbara Gail Craig, age 49, of Portland, passed away January 29, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Craig of Portland; daughter, Jamie Russell of Portland; sons, Doug Calvert and Jody Munday of Portland; sister, Joyce Spain of Springfield; brothers, Bill and Michael Donnestad of Portland; mother and stepfather, Glen and Loretta Anderson of Portland; 5 grandchildren. He was born in Macon County on July 8, 1924, to the late John Lloyd and Myrtle McKinley Creasey. James Wesley Davis, Sr., age 67, of Portland passed away July 2, 2010. Mr. Davis was a retired teacher, teaching for the Sumner County School System. He is survived by his wife, Anita Lorraine Lewis Davis of Portland; daughter, Libby Jane Davis (Tommy) Colyar of Nolensville; son, James Wesley (Carmen) Davis, Jr., of Portland; mother, Nona Davis of Gallatin; sister, Linda Sisk of Gallatin; grandchildren, Samantha (Billy) Thompson of Ft. Campbell, Chelsey (Adam) Harpole of Portland, Jamie Davis of Portland, Joe David Traughber of Nolensville; great granddaughter, Aubrey Jane Harpole. Anna Lucille Dinwiddie, age 87, of Portland, passed away January 1, 2010. She was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., January 16, 1922, to the late Frank and Hattie Walker. She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Dinwiddie; sons, John Franklin Dinwiddie and Fred Daryl Dinwiddie. She is survived by her children, Lynda Ruth (Terry) White of Gallatin, Sue Evelyn Roth (Jim Ryan) of Portland, Charles Watkins (Beverly) Dinwiddie of Brentwood; sister, Peggy Batten of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.  She is a longtime resident of Portland, retired from True Temper and was a member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church. Lucille was an avid seamstress and quilter and had been a teacher, secretary, and along with her husband, the owner and operator of a grocery store in Nashville and Portland.  Visitation is 4 p.m., until 9 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010, and 2 p.m., until 6 p.m., Sunday.  Funeral service is 11 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with interment at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Jesse Allen Dixon, of Portland, was born October 4, 1931, in Davidson County and passed away January 30, 2010. He was a graduate of DuPont High School in Nashville, Tenn., and he was a retiree of PPG Industries of Nashville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vern Hobart Dixon and Ola Blanche (Houck) Dixon of Nashville; brothers, V.H. Dixon of Augusta, Ga., Cyril Edgar Dixon of Nashville; sisters, Wilma June Dixon of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Evelyn Blanche Dixon of Nashville; daughter, Jackie Legieza of Portland. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beatrice Dixon of Portland; brother, Jerry Wallace (Dot) Dixon; sisters, Dorothy Sue (Frensley) Dixon, Gloria Dean (James) Risner; sons, Roy Wayne (Daphaney) Chrisman, Danny (Linda) Martin, Johnny (Cindy) Martin; daughters, Lisa (John) Seibel, Rita (Jessie) Jones, Dorris (Johnny) Brown; son-in-law, Bobby Legieza. Gary R. “Ronnie” Dorris, age 63, of Portland, passed away February 23, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Marie and Lawrence Dorris; son, Danny Ray Dorris. Bettiemarie “Boop” Ellen Edenfield, of Portland, Tenn., died on May 3, 2010. She was 60 years old. Clifton "Clif" R. Victor Earl Keith, born January 30, 1924, passed from this life on January 20, 2010. He was a longtime member of Portland Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon for 30 years. He owned and operated Portland Spur Station until he retired in 1989. He was also a veteran of World War II. Thelma J. (Steele) Link, age 77, of Cottontown, Tenn., passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; son, Duane; sister, Sarah Ann (Steele) Day. Her loving survivors include her son, Shelby (Jayne) Link of Hermitage, Tenn.; daughter, Shyla (Everett) Moseley of Grove City Ohio; grandchildren, Aaron Link of Denver, Colo., Sarah Beth Link (Nathan Barnett) of Atlanta, Ga., Nathanael Hall of Chicago, Ill., and Tony Hall, Jr., of Grove City, Ohio; newly born great granddaughter, Mackenzie Sue Carper; and15 nephews and 8 nieces.  Thelma, a Sumner County native, lived in Ohio for 35 years and illustrated her caring and compassionate talents as a floral arranger/designer at Grove City Floral and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse for Orient State Institute, from which she retired in 1986 and returned to Cottontown with her husband. She was a member of New Deal Church of Christ as well as a loyal faithful member of Grove City Church of Christ. Her favorite pastimes reflected her love of nature and knowledge as she was an accomplished gardener, seamstress, devoted mystery novelist fan, a classic Southern cook, and she immersed herself in contemporary and country music. Her love of travel included visits to all but one the U. S. states and the several foreign countries. Thelma will be sorely missed as she was described by all who encountered her, even briefly, as a sweetheart. Her sage advise and gentle disposition and unbiding enthusiasm for helping others are a true loss for family and friends. Her forgiving nature and embracing love of family will remain as cherished memories for her survivors. Kelsie Dawn Trobaugh, age 17, of Portland, passed away March 20, 2010.  She is survived by her mother, Kimberly Reagan Trobaugh of Portland; father, David Trobaugh of White House; brothers, Zachary Trobaugh of White House and Jeb Coe of Gamaliel, Ky.; nephew, Jesse Coe of Gamaliel, Ky.; grandparents, Clarence and Nellie Trobaugh of Hermitage Springs; several aunts and uncles.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, J.T. Reagan and Betty Reagan York.  Visitation is 4 p.m., until 9 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, and 11 a.m., until 9 p.m., Tuesday. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Portland First Baptist Church with Andrew Kirk officiating.  Additional visitation is at the church from 12 noon until service time.  Interment is at Halltown Cemetery. 
Jessie Lera Tucker, age 89, of Hartsville, passed away February 10, 2010. She was born in Macon County, Tenn., on October 15, 1920, to the late James and Floretta ONeal. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thommy Tucker; sons, Larry Joe Tucker and Hillas Tucker; daughter, Carol Faye Tucker; grandson, Alvin Lee Clubbs, Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Tucker. She is survived by her daughters, Felicia Clubbs of Portland, Geneva Litton of Burns, Joyce Mayes of Nashville, Kathy Tucker of Hartsville; sons, James Tucker of Springfield, Scotty Tucker of Portland, Roger Tucker of Hartsville, Randall Tucker of Portland; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.  Visitation is 12 noon until 8 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2010.  Funeral service is 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Harold Knight and David Harper officiating. Interment is at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Floyd Raymond Utley, age 44, of Portland passed away June 6, 2010, at the Medical Center at Franklin, Ky.  He was born in Sumner County on September 22, 1965, to the late Lewis Truman and Vivian Riggsbee Utley. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Utley. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Utley of White House; granddaughter, Kadin Shattles of White House; brother, Chad (Brenda) Utley of Portland.  Visitation is 10:30 a.m., until 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at the funeral home.  Graveside service is 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Searcy Cemetery. Charles Franklin Wilkerson, age 87, of Portland, passed away January 30, 2010. He was born in Sumner County on October 10, 1922, to the late John Frank and Nancy Ray Wilkerson. Charles served in the the Navy from 1943 till 1946 and retired from the Air Force, having served during WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. He is survived by his nephews, Harold Mundy, Robert Lamberth, James Lamberth, Richard Lamberth, Bobby Jackson and Pat McCloud; nieces, Wilkie Sheppard, Linda Smith, Carline Humphries, Helen George, Lila George and Ruth Whitaker. Visitation is 3 p.m., until 9 p.m., Monday. February 1, 2010. Masonic service is 7 p.m., Monday. Funeral service is 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Towe officiating. Interment is at Old Brush Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered at the cemetery. Joyce Pearson Williams, July 12, 1940-February 17, 2010, lifelong resident of Portland, Tenn., passed away after a long and brave battle with hemochromatosis and cancer. She was surrounded in death by many of those who loved her. A beloved mother, grandmother, companion, and friend, she was one of four children born to the late Earl and Winnie Pearson and was the beloved wife of the late Charlie Williams.

Joyce will forever be remembered by her children, Todd (Joy) Henson, Tim Henson, Katrina (Eric) LaRue, Tony (Jamie) Henson, and Chuck (Amber) Williams; step children, Wayne (Penny) Williams, Bobby (Andrea ) Williams and Tina Collins; siblings, Harold (Joan) Pearson, and Wanda (James) Barrow; and sweetheart, Bobby Lassiter. Joyce is also survived by 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m, until 9 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home.  Funeral service is 1 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Alex Jackson officiating. Interment is at Ebenezer Cemetery. Donations can be made in memory of Joyce Williams at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Noah Isaac Wilson, age 18, of Portland, passed away March 20, 2010.  He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Sheri Buttery Wilson of Portland; sister, Lindsey Jo (Bryant) Coker of Knoxville; grandmother, Betty Wilson Jones; step-grandfather, Duncan Jones; grandmother, Wanda Buttery; grandparents, Paul and Moline Dillard. He is preceeded in death by his grandfathers, Bud Wilson and Dennis Buttery. Mary Taylor White, age 82, of Portland, passed away May 27, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center. She was born in Sumner County on February 14, 1928. She is survived by her husband, Haron White; daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Carpenter; son, Robin Taylor White, all of Portland; grandchildren, Carly (Andre) Jones, Casey Carpenter, Dawn (Louis) Meadows, Amber (Andy) Arnold, Zachary (Kim) White; 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Lindsley. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ruby Canida Taylor; sister, Sadie Lindsley; brother, Raymond Taylor. Visitation is 4:30 p.m., until 9 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at the funeral home, and after 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church.  Funeral service is 2 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Gregory, Rev. Donald Taylor and Rev. Roger Gosnell officiating. Interment is at Ebenezer cemetery.
